XWord Free - Fantastic Word Processor App Reviews

I did not find the possibility to export to html or whatever I need. Is this only possible in the Pro-Version? Then it should be stated clearly. Kind regards. Hary

Not sure if El Capitan is the problem here, but pasting of text from notepad or a website is not possible. Pasting of the same text in other apps is no problem. Pasting of text should be available in a text processing software.

This app is horrible, I saved a document multiple times. Only to find later on the file was not present in my document. This horrible app cost me my mid term paper and 40% of my mark. Would not recommend under any circumstances.

how do u convert it to pfd?

X word was perfect for my needs..I added an upgrade of $11.99…now since I upgraded my MAC to latest OS X EI Capitan it is no longer working. It will not open…it just flashes up and won’t open.. is this to force me to buy a MAC word processing product? Why is this offered then? Is this temporary and I just need to be patient?

it looks like the free version can export to pdf but only produces .xwd format

This app looks nice and so far does everything I need it to do. Great for anyone new to Apple like myself.

It does nothing fancy, which is what makes it great. A great word processor!

This App is horrible I downloaded it because I didnt want to pay for microsoft word. As Im writing i made a mistake and had to backspace, but everytime i backspace it highlights the entire text and if i press it again it deletes everything. Of course I can just undo the delete but I shouldnt have to go through that. Why would they make an app where you cant just delete one characther without having to highlight that individual character. This is horrible. DELETE!!!!!!!

I like the app, i just dont know how to save my stuff to RTF which I need to do. Any help please?

When i put just one picture from iphoto and it just crash with no auto-saving So unprofessional!!!

While using this word processor, five minutes before printing my document and submitting it in class, the entire program stalled and then shut down with no explanation, destroying my entire document and an entire day of work. Absolutely do not install this

After searching through the multitude of word processing apps…. I just needed to write out a simple letter and didnt want to spend any money since I dont often do this. I took a chance and downloaded this … I had no problems with this program. It did exactly what i needed it to do and was able to print out my document without any problems! Very very happy with this program…. so far !!

I bought this app because Text Edit does NOT work for papers. I think its ok for someone on a budget, but I would just spend the money and use this as a backup. I think this could be so much better! Do NOT get this app if you need a: Cover Page, chart, graph, numbered page(though it does have this function, it dosent work right), or a picture insert. To me, the things I listed are what I need in a program.

So this thing froze when I was taking my art history notes. To be more specific, I was taking them in outline format, and I wanted to include images alongside the text. So I dragged and dropped, and it was going rather well until I accidentally dropped the image on a bullet. I pressed “Delete” and the program froze. When I was just trying to delete a bullet. I opened up another file to test and see if that was a fluke, but then it did the exact same thing. I quit the program and was prompted to “Review” any changes. This gave me a spark of hope, but I clicked on it, and then the program just shut down entirely. The interface is well designed, easy to use, and clean. That part is great, but please, please, please, fix that bug.

I had my reservations about the quality because it is free but after much use I have fallen in love.

This piece of s$&t has caused me MORE problems than ANY program ever. I needed to convert to .doc format to submit papers for school, which is EXACTLY what it is supposed to do. I paid the $10, then they asked for more money for the PREMIUM version. The $10 version allowed the .doc conversion, so I bought it. My professor couldn’t open my assignments, so I went back and thought I was formatting wrong, whatever. I saw in my “purchases” section that I was using the FREE version, for some reason it had reverted back to the free version, and I thought this was the problem. I reinstalled, and same problem. After going back and forth for a few weeks, I just gave up and pulled my old DELL out of storage and have you ever tried to get a fifteen year old computer updated to communicate with modern tech? Oh, it will do it, if you have all the f&%*$ing time in the world to install updates at the speed of molasses in January. I got all sentimental about downloading porn at one page an hour and put on some Nirvana to complete my transformation to the 90’s. Finally saw the other reviews and realized the problem wasn’t me, and this program works fine if all you want to do is write letters to yourself. You can use notes for that. Don’t buy the update. I can’t BELIEVE Apple allows this to be sold, and that it is described as FANTASTIC, it is anything but. Uninstalling, and I want my points back for having to hand in my assignments late. And my money back. And someone fired.
